Joel E. Morgan Attorney

Joel “Jed” E. Morgan is a trial lawyer with Webster Vicknair MacLeod, officially joining the firm in August 2025 after spending his law school years clerking alongside the WVM team. Born and raised in Nacogdoches, Jed is a proud lifelong Texan whose path led him to Texas A&M University. There, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics and graduated magna cum laude.

Jed continued his education at the University of Houston Law Center, where he quickly made his mark in the advocacy program. As a member of the UHLC National Mock Trial Team, he competed in tournaments around the country, earning recognition for his courtroom presence, preparation, and poise. His contributions led to him receiving the advocacy program’s inaugural Legacy Award and Scholarship—an honor created to highlight exceptional dedication and impact. At graduation, he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a selective national organization recognizing the top student advocates at each law school.

Outside the courtroom, Jed built a strong foundation in maritime law. His academic excellence earned him the Gus A. Schill, Jr. Maritime Law and Professionalism Scholarship, and he gained practical experience clerking for both a respected maritime personal injury firm and the Honorable Beau Miller of the 190th District Court in Harris County.

Today, Jed represents clients in high-stakes, life-altering cases. His practice includes catastrophic injury matters such as explosions, premises liability, and products liability, as well as maritime claims under the Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.

Driven, detail-oriented, and client-focused, Jed approaches every case with the same determination that made him a standout advocate long before he entered the courtroom.
